Elvis Costello goes Hollywood

HOLLYWOOD, California -- Listen up, Gisele, Kate and Naomi. Forget trying to be the next "model-turned-actress" -- try "model-turned-rocker" on for size.

The WB network has signed rockers Elvis Costello and T-Bone Burnett to create an hour-long comedy-drama about four ex-models turned rock stars. Costello will write an original song for each episode.

Costello envisions his rockers embarking on some far-out missions -- literally. "They go into outer space, they rescue people from dastardly dictators -- and they play songs," he told Variety magazine. Costello said he's not ruling out the occasional cameo. "Maybe I'll pop up as a villain. Or a flunkie."

The show is scheduled to debut in fall 2001.
