Sunday-Star Times (NZ), 1999-01-24 On Friday night, at the Sheraton, a very different crowd of 200 gathered for a night of musical history with the Sweetwaters stars who lent their talents for charity. Pop elven Donovan packed the dance floor with nostalgic twisters when he delivered sweet classics such as Hurdy Gurdy Man, Jennifer Juniper and Mellow Yellow. But the truly magical moments came in the finale when our own Finn brothers stepped onto the stage to rapturous acclaim, joined by american alternative rock icon Grant Lee Phillips and former Split Enz pianist Eddie Rayner. Then Neil Finn announced "Elvis is in the building"- and a beaming Elvis Costello stepped onto the stage. They raced through a medley from their combined repertoires. As MC Gary McCormick said, it was a night we are unlikely to see again. (Photo- Elvis, Grant & Neil at the microphone)
