Review of recording of 2001-11-06: Crossroads TV program with Lucinda Williams
- Mitch [weinoo@aol.com]

Attended last night's taping of the first show of a new series for CMT (Country Music Television) calledCrossroads and it was very excellent! Looks like Bill Flanagan (of VH-1 fame) played a big part in the production of the show.

Elvis opened, backed by Lucinda's band...Stranger in the House, Motel Matches and a new song called Dust (I believe). Other songs performed with Lucinda included Indoor Fireworks, Poisoned Rose (which took EC at least 3 attempts to get right), Car Wheels on a Gravel Road, Drunken Angel, Changed the Locks and, get this - Wild Horses!! right into Uncomplicated!!!... Elvis and Lucinda sat on the edge of the stage and took questions from the audience for about 20 minutes...Lucinda sang Crescent City via request and Elvis sang a song he said he had written for Lucinda...didn't catch a name though. EC told a great story about meeting Johnny Cash (when he was Nick's father-in-law) at Nick's house/studio in West London. They played both Wild Horses and Uncomplicated a second time...it rocked. I'm sure I've forgotten a few of the songs...the taping lasted a good 2 - 2 1/2 hours.
