Review of concert from 2002-03-29: with Various Artists; London,
BBC 1; Friday Night With Jonathan Ross
- Nick Ratcliffe
TV appearance
29-04-02: 22.30 GMT BBC1 Jonathan Ross Show
- Alison (first verse and chorus only) solo with acoustic guitar
- Tear off your own head (its a doll revolution) accompanied by "Amsterdam
and Stephen Kennedy".
EC also chatted for about 10 minutes with our host, revealing that
he had attended the Oscars ceremony in Los Angeles earlier in the week,
and the subsequent Vanity Fair party. At that party, he
met (amongst others) Nicole Kidman (who shares his appreciation of Eric
Sykes) and the young actor (Elijah Wood) who plays Frodo in Lord
of the Rings (recent film version). Elijah Wood apparently has
some of EC's albums, which pleased EC no end, owing to Elijah's youth
(he is 20).
Elvis wife Cait was visible in the "green room" at some
points during the interview but did not speak or play.
Jonathan Ross said that his favourite track on the new album was the
title track, and to prove it, he played it yesterday morning (30 March
on his radio show on BBC Radio 2).
Programme was repeated on BBC Choice (2002-04-30 at 22.15 GMT),
