A Fabulous Performance from Elvis

The store had announced that no one would be allowed to line up before 5:30, and anyone attempting to do so would have his/her voucher revoked. Should have known that wouldn't happen. Ken, Jill, Carol, Jeff and I met up at the Nodding Head Brewery at about 5:15 and figured we had a little time before heading over to the Tower. Jeff left early and came back to report that (a) there were about 25 people in line and (b) it was raining like the dickens
We ran over with newspapers over our heads (shades of Rocky Horror!) and found that the line was closer to 40. The good news was we were allowed to wait inside. The bad news was that if you were holding someone else's voucher, you had to wait outside. So, back into the rain for poor Jeff, and poor me as well - my husband was meeting me at the store.

Finally, everyone was accounted for and we waited for Mr. C. He came out to wild applause, looking sharp in the ever-present black leather jacket, and tore into "Spooky Girfriend". "I broke a string on that one, so now we'll have a ballad" - and with that, played a lovely version of "Tart". Then it was back to the electric for "Dust", followed by "WIWC #2", and a great, rocking "TOYOH". It looked as if he was done at that point, but instead, he said "I'm going to play a love song now - oh, but not like "She" or anything like that", and made a face. That brought us to a powerful "15 Petals", and the close of the show.

Needless to say, it was a fabulous performance from Elvis, and an exciting expereince seeing him on a tiny stage in a small crowd. I'm left with one question - how the heck do I wait until June?!?
