Elvis Costello and Steve Nieve
The Paramount Theatre

May 26, 1999

With the privilege of seeing the show in Vancouver, just two nights before. I was just as excited to see last evenings performance in Seattle. With minimal set decor, and lighting, Costello and Nieve took to the stage and ran through a set similar to most that have shows have included on this tour. With better sound than in Vancouver, Elvis and Steve seemed even more comfortable than Monday evening. The spoken word dialog during "God's Comic" was longer and provoked more audience participation. The inclusion of "Man Out Of Time" and even more passionate performances of the "Painted From Memory" numbers prove that this tour will no doubt be of any disappointment to any fan. The unamplified rendition of "Couldn't Call It Unexpected No.4" was indeed the highlight of the show again. With the rapt audience enjoying songs from many different albums, and in most cases re-arranged for the two man format I'm sure the capacity crowd will not soon forget this amazing show.

I can't wait for tonight's concert in Oregon.
