Just got back from Shoreline, and here are a few impressions from the show:

No backing vocals like the preceding concerts. The keyboards sounded good,
but I think Elvis' guitar could've been mixed up a lot - I could barely hear
it. The Voice was *very* strong, consistent, and quite impressive. I wasn't
at all disappointed to hear "Temptation" in place of "This is Hell", although
he did seem to carry on with the "sin" theme...

High points for me were "Beyond Belief" and an exquisite rendition of "Still
Too Soon To Know". "You Tripped..." was very good, but I couldn't help but
yearn for the great backing vocals. True to form, Elvis did an awesome job
of trying to sing both lead and backing vocals on "Tripped" but didn't quite
bring it off.

Got the "2 1/2 Years" boxed set right before going to Shoreline, and can't
wait to hear El Mocambo!

Another cool shirt from the concert: Elvis Costello & the Attractions: More
Than You Deserve.

Wheeeee ha.
