The Philly show was up to the standards that have been put forth on the list
so far. No surprises on the set list, but someone mentioned that he did
Chelsea, but not really. He went into a little of it during the breakdown in
"Lipstick Vogue", but I think that this was unrehearsed, as Bruce Thomas
seemed a little confused, unsure whether to stay on the "LV" riff or follow E
to Chelsea. Great Smokey Robinson interlude in "Alison", though.

I had backstage passes, but got to the show late, and thought the better of
going back after the show. I can't tell ya how many times I've had an artist
ruin my listening experience by being a jerk to me. The geeky fan in me was
disappointed by not meeting the fellas, but now I can continue my affair with
each and every record unfettered.

A painter friend of mine who was attending his first Attractions show
remarked that Steve N. was doing nothing short of lobbing paint-filled water
balloons onto the songs. A very apt description. It was one of those shows
where I walk away with complete reaffirmation to the choices I made in life,
as all I can think of is "How could anyone in their right mind not want to
make music for a living?......"
