The title track is, of course, the first single from Mr. Costello's recent Spike collection. But there are two new recordings here that won't be found on Spike. The first is a version of "You're No Good," Linda Ronstadt's No. 1 hit from 1975. Mr. Costello's "You're No Good" features Nick Lowe on bass guitar and — no surprise here — accentuates the menace in the lyric. The other surprise is Costello's version of "The Room Nobody Lives In," taken — and how's this for obscure? — from former Lovin' Spoonful leader John Sebastian's 1970 solo album. Mr. Costello sings it just the way Mr. Sebastian did — as a breathy solo performance, accompanying himself on organ. For Costello fans, these two songs make this disc worth collecting.
