Reviews

Elvis didn't disappoint. He came out with just an acoustic guitar, and knocked out hit after hit. "Angels Wanna Wear My Red Shoes," "Alison," "Indoor Fireworks" and more. He brought out accompanist Larry Campbell and played a couple of songs he had written originally for Johnny Cash. Then Jim Lauderdale joined him for a really tremendous take on the Dead's "Friend Of The Devil." Sam Bush, and Jerry Douglas joined the crew for both rockers and weepers. And the whole thing wrapped up with a rollicking version of "Mystery Train," one of my all-time favorites. -- PJ's Journal
