A little disappointing after the excellent My Aim is True. The songs are not as strong, and the sympathy that Clover provided to songs like "Alison" and "Red Shoes" on the first album is not endorsed by Elvis's band. The Attractions prefer a more instant dynamic approach which is further brought out by Nick Lowe's production. But perhaps instantly likeable songs like "The Beat," "Night Rally" and "Lipstick Logic" will improve with time.
