Following last year's release of Hey Clockface, Elvis Costello has shared details of a new album. Alongside the Imposters, Costello will share The Boy Named If on January 14 via EMI.
Costello shares that the batch of 13 songs "take us from the last days of a bewildered boyhood to that mortifying moment when you are told to stop acting like a child — which for most men (and perhaps a few gals too) can be any time in the next 50 years."
The Boy Named If was produced by Costello and Sebastian Krys. First single "Magnificent Hurt," which Costello premiered earlier this month on Memphis radio station WEVL, can be found in the player below, alongside the record's tracklist.
After the release of Hey Clockface — which we felt had one of the Worst Album Covers of 2020 — Costello delivered a companion EP with French versions of album tracks, and capped 2020 with single "Farewell, OK."
The Boy Named If follows Costello and the Imposters' 2018 album, Look Now.
