Whitney Houston and Elvis Costello will be performing at Nashua's Downtown Live summer concert series at Holman Stadium.
Whitney Houston and special guests, After Seven, will come to Nashua on Saturday, Aug. 10.
Elvis Costello will open the Downtown Live series on Tuesday, June 18, along with The Replacements. Both shows begin at 7 30 p.m.
Tickets for both shows go on sale Monday at 10 a.m., with a choice of reserved or grandstand seating.
Other performers in the Downtown Live summer series will be announced at a press conference on May 15.
From her very first blockbuster album to her most recent CD release, I'm Your Baby Tonight. 27-year-old Whitney Houston has been at the forefront of the music world for over six years. Her powerful voice and dynamic performances have won her two Grammy Awards, 11 American Music Awards and two Emmy Awards, among other honors. Her first album continues to hold the record for best-selling solo debut album of all time. She was also the first artist to achieve a string of seven consecutive No. 1 hits, surpassing the Beatles and other superstars.
Elvis Costello's eclectic musical career has spanned more than 15 years and has included many critically acclaimed albums, solo and band tours, and hit singles. His debut album, My Aim is True, featured several songs that went to the top of the charts in the United States and Europe, including "Allison" and "The Angels Wanna Wear My Red Shoes." He went on to hit the charts with such songs as "Accidents Will Happen," "Radio, Radio" and "Everyday I Write the Book."
On his 1989 LP, Spike, Costello teamed up with Paul McCartney on a few cuts, including the hit single, "Veronica."
Costello has just finished a brand new album, titled Mighty Like A Rose, which is due to be released Friday.
Ticket prices for the Whitney Houston concert are $21.50 and $19 50, tickets for Elvis Costello are $19.50 for reserved seats and $17.50 for general-admission grandstand seating. There will also be a limited number of Golden Circle seats available for both shows.
