My Aim Is True
Elvis Costello
Jim Bunnell
Before tempers flare, remember that this guy called himself Elvis long before the King died. And there's no implied comparison, either. Costello is a rather homely, skinny guy with the cuffs rolled up on his bluejeans and a pair of glasses the style of which went out with Adlai Stevenson. But the stuff he plays is catchy, fresh rock 'n' roll. Costello's voice comes off as a cross between Bruce Springsteen and Levon Helm of The Band, which fits in perfectly with his slick tunes (the longest of which is 3-and-a-half minutes). You'll have to hear this guy to believe him.
