Trust

Elvis Costello

Ron Barker

As expected, Elvis Costello released another quality album with Trust. Here, Costello continues his progression from the raw energy of My Aim Is True to a style that is more refined and crisp.

Trust contains melodies, such as "New Lace Sleeves" and "Shot With His Own Gun," rockers, "Never Be A Man" and "Strict Time," and he even goes back to the roots with a country ballad, entitled, "Different Finger." But in a most surprising move, Costello teams up with Glenn Tilbrook of Squeeze for a fine duo on "From A Whisper to a Scream." There is also a guest appearance from Martin Belmont, guitarist for Graham Parker's former back-up band, the Rumour.
