Costello goes cross-country running

Elvis Costello returns from an American tour with the Talking Heads next month for a four-week UK tour.

Elvis and the Attractions open at Dublin Stella Cinema on March 16 and then play a special St Patrick’s Day concert at Belfast Ulster Hall 17 before moving across the Irish Sea to play Cardiff Top Rank 19, Canterbury Odeon 20, Leicester De Montfort Hall 21, Newcastle City Hall 22, Liverpool Eric's 24-5, Bristol Locarno 26, Malvern Winter Gardens 27, Bournemouth Village Bowl 28, Brighton Top Rank 29, Cambridge Corn Exchange 31, Bracknell Sports Centre April 1, Middlesbrough Town Hall 2, Edinburgh Tiffany's 3, Glasgow Satellite City 4, Sheffield Top Rank 5, Manchester Rafters 6-7, Hemel Hempstead Pavilion 9, Penzance Garden 11, Portsmouth Guildhall 12, Birmingham Barbarella's 13-14, London Roundhouse 15-16.

The tour combines major and small venues and prices vary at each venue, although the top price is £2.50 and the vast majority of dates are priced at under £2.00.

The next Elvis Costello single, titled "(I Don't Want To Go To) Chelsea" is released by Radar Records on March 3 and his second album, to be called This Year's Model will be released on March 17.
