Note the bit where he says:
"Ik wil geen enkele party bezoeken waar ik Elton John kan tegenkomen."
which translates to: "I do not want to attend any party where I can meet Elton John." Clearly he changed his mind by the time he and Diana were married at Elton's house years later.
