The Other Of The Telescope single - Elvis Costello & The Attractions
The Other End Of The Telescope (EC/Aimee Mann]) (4:08) - EC+A Almost Ideal Eyes (4:22) - EC+A Basement Kiss (live; Dublin) (4:11) - EC+A Complicated Shadows (Cashbox version) (2:26) - EC+A
[1996-08-02; CD5; Warner WO365CD/9362-43745-2 (Germany, 3000 pressed)]
"TOEOTT" & "AIE" produced by Geoff Emerick & EC.
"CS" produced by Stepaside Productions.
"BK" recorded & mixed by Dave Zamitt.
This German release contains correct 'Cashbox Version' of "Complicated Shadows".
Here are a few tips to help distinguish this version from the UK version: "The packaging of both versions is VERY similar. The only difference on the sleeve are the words "LC 0392 WE C795" which are printed in small black letters on the back, under the listing of the track "Complicated Shadows", and to the right of "Licensed by GEMA". Other than this the sleeves are identical. Don't be mislead by the "Made in Germany" text at the very bottom of the sleeve on the back - both versions say this. If you are able to examine the CD intself then there are a couple of differences. Most noticable is that the yellow & blue picture on the CD goes right up to the centre hole on the UK version, while on the German copy the centre piece of plastic (about 1 1/2" in diameter) is clear. This is slightly confusing because the other 3 UK maxis in the set have this clear centre piece as well. The UK CD is pressed by DISCTRONICS, and has this text written around the inner ring on the silver side of the disc. The German version has "WME" & "IPPI" instead."

Grace Of My Heart Soundtrack - various artists
God Give Me Strength (EC/Bacharach]) (6:09) - EC + Burt Bacharach
[1996-09-10; CD; MCA 11510 (USA)] [1996-09-17; CD; MCA 11554 (US, reissue. Released in Germany 970109)] [1997-03-21; CD; MCA Victor MVCM-661 (Japan)]
Lyrics included in liner notes.
The initial versions of the US release (MCA 11510) had Joni Mitchell singing the track "Man From Mars". This mistake was corrected and the Kristen Vigard track was used for the reissue. (Both tracks have the same time).
There were plans to release "God Give Me Strength" as a UK single in April '97, but EC refused to give MCA permission.
