There was dancing in the aisles last night when Elvis Costello and The Attractions proved they are truly riding on the crest of the new wave.
It was a performance with enough energy to recharge the most disinterested spectator and no one left disappointed.
The small, bespectacled Costello handled his guitar like a sten gun blasting out such memorable numbers as "Chelsea" and the now-infamous "Watching The Detectives."
The Attractions more than ably backed Costello with some superb sounds, particularly from the keyboards, and got three encores.
