On Wednesday, July 25, Elvis Costello and The Imposters and Blondie played a sold out show at Forest Hills Stadium. Costello returned to Forest Hills where he played in 1982 and 1984. Debbie Harry said she was happy to be in New York City, which she called home. The setlists included many beloved hits by both bands.
Costello (guitar, keyboards, vocals) and The Imposters (Steve Nieve, keyboards; Pete Thomas, drums; Davey Faragher, bass, backing vocals; and Kitten Kuroi and Briana Lee, backing vocals) played "Pump It Up," "Miracle Man," "Clubland," "Accidents Will Happen," "Green Shirt," "Photographs Can Lie" (Intro: "The Look of Love"), "Mr & Mrs Hush," "Beyond Belief," "Watching the Detectives," "A Face in the Crowd," "This Year's Girl," "Less Than Zero," "I Can't Stand Up for Falling Down," "High Fidelity," "Everyday I Write the Book," "Alison," and "(What's So Funny Bout) Peace, Love and Understanding."
Fans were thrilled to see that Blondie featured core members Debbie Harry, Chris Stein, and Clem Burke who were together from the start in 1974 until 1982, and then again from 1997 until now. They were joined by Leigh Foxx (bass), Matt Katz-Bohen (keyboards), and Tommy Kessler (guitar).
Blondie played "One Way or Another," "Hanging on the Telephone" (The Nerves cover), "Fun," "Call Me," "Maria," "Too Much," "Rapture," "Old Town Road" (Lil Nas X cover), "Fade Away and Radiate," "The Tide Is High" (The Paragons cover with "Groove Is In the Heart" by Deee-Lite), "Orchid Club," "Atomic," "Heart of Glass" "with a snippet of "I Feel Love" by Donna Summer); and for an encore, "You're Too Hot" (a Debbie Harry song) and "Dreaming."
