Blood & Chocolate

Pete Wodarz

The latest by Elvis Costello, Blood & Chocolate, also was recently released. After a first listen, I don't think it is as good as his earlier album this year, King of America. Costello has a bite, as he seems a little angry in this new material. He definitely rocks in "Battered Old Bird" and "Honey, Are You Straight or Are You Blind." I've always liked Costello's slower material, over his short, fast cuts, and this album lacks the depressed Elvis found on the King LP. I recommend this only to the "real" Costello fans. Sorry Elvis.
