Then there was the time, in Houston, when the Rubinoos were opening for Elvis Costello. My sister was married to Tommy Dunbar's brother, so I went as Tommy's guest. When I went backstage to say hello, a scrawny troothless Brit charged up to me and screamed, "I told you to get the fuck outta here!" as he ripped the sticky pass off my pant leg.
