I was at the '87 show (UC Irvine's Bren Events Center) and somehow this tape came out sounding a heck of a lot better than the sound did that night. This may be my favorite Nick show ever. Gorgeous versions of "From Now On" and "Raining, Raining." Elvis Costello had a bad cold, was hoarse and played barely an hour. He had Nick join him for their first-ever duet on Peace Love & Understanding to help him get through the set. Unfortunately, Nick's microphone wasn't turned on, so the crowd didn't hear him take the second verse and couldn't hear his harmonies on the chorus.

This was my first Elvis concert. I remember Benmont Tench (Tom Petty's keyboard player) joined Elvis for one song on piano, and although I don't remember what song they did, I'm almost positive it was a cover. I'm also fairly certain Nick performed "You Make Me" (not present on this page's setlist). Not Elvis' best, but it was a fun show.
