Declan Patrick MacManus is EC's birth name. EC began using the name Elvis Costello professionally in 1977 and changed his legal name to Elvis Costello some time after that. In 1985, he changed his legal name to Declan Patrick Aloysius MacManus, a slight variation of his birth name.
