Macroom Festival

Donegal News

Elvis Costello & the Attractions and The Pretenders are the headliners of the fifth Macroom Festival in County Cork, which the organisers claim to be the bigger ever line-up for an Irish Festival.

The whole event runs for ten days, but the two open-air rock concerts are on Saturday and Sunday, June 27th and 28th. The full bill is: Elvis Costello & the Attractions, The Blues Band, The Undertones, The Moondogs, and the Rhythm Kings (Saturday); The Pretenders, Q-Tips, Paul Brady Band, Sniff 'n' the Tears, and Scullion (Sunday).

Ticket prices are £8 Saturday, £7 Sunday and £12 weekend.

No news as yet whether Donegal's open-air Rock Concert will be held this year. Last year's event held in Donegal Town ran into major problems with the venue and as a result wasn't the success it deserved to be. Hopefully this year, if the event goes ahead, the organisers won't run into similar difficulties.
