CONTRAST CLAUSE : Different to recordings uploaded here by chatts99 in 16 and 24 ibt, this is my recording from a static position dead centre. Like Manchester, the Ipswich crowd seemed one of the most joyous and welcoming it's been my pleasure to attend and they particularly enjoyed Elvi little talks between songs and the digs at neighbouring Norwich , the cross county rivalry enhanced by Elvis poor reception when he delayed his appearance at UEA in 2005 due to Liverpool F.C.'s appearance in the Champions League Final, only to be greeted by a bottle of water thrown at him. He's often joked that he'd never go back there and the Suffolk folk obviously loved that response even if it has taken 17 years since then to come here and in fact it has been 23 years since he last graced this area. The band were obviously delighted to be back after the cancellation of a couple, of gigs and in no way held themselves back for London and the ecstatic response of the crowd acted as a spur to some lovely performances. No doubt most of you will have already heard these, I've just responded to the requests of some devoted friends and Costello experts who encouraged me to add this to the little tribute from me to this U.K. tour.
