Elvis Costello is set to return to Ireland for three concerts in September.

Costello, whose latest album Goodbye Cruel World has just charted strongly in Britain, is widely recognised as being among the most inspired songwriters and performers of today, his prolific output since the release of his debut album My Aim Is True in 1977 adding up to a formidable body of work.
Costello, who has played a number of successful concerts in Ireland in the past will open his forthcoming visit with a show in the Ulster Hall, Belfast on Thursday September 27th, followed by Leisureland, Galway (28) and National Stadium, Dublin (29). Prior to his Irish and British tour, Costello will have a new single on release. Entitled "Not The Only Flame In Town" it features Daryl Hall (of chart-topping American duo Hall and Oates) sharing vocal duties with Costello.
Supporting Elvis in Ireland and throughout the rest of the tour will be The Pogues, the highly-touted London band who purvey their own rockin’ brand of Irish folk music. To coincide with the tour, The Pogues will follow up their "Dark Streets Of London" single with a new, as yet unidentified, 45.
Finally, ticket prices for the gigs are as follows: Belfast (£5), Galway (£6) and Dublin (£6.50, £7 and £7.50).
