Elvis Costello and the Imposters rock the Keith-Albee

HUNTINGTON -- Thousands of people packed into the Keith-Albee Performing Arts Center on Saturday evening to take in a performance from a rock icon in the latest installment of the Marshall Artist Series.

Elvis Costello and the Imposters took to the Keith-Albee's stage with their patented spinning songbook, which is the focal point of "The Revolver Tour," which marks revival of the Spectacular Spinning Songbook.

The original songbook made it's debut on Costello's tour in 1986, and it was donated to the Hartlepool Museum of Showbusiness Machinery in England.

The spinning songbook features 40 of Costello's greatest hits -- songs like "Radio, Radio," "Veronica" and "Allison" -- and favorite tunes, and members were plucked from the audience to take their spins, which determined the set list for the show.

The next event for the Marshall Artist Series will be a visit from Columbus Zoo director emeritus and talk show mainstay Jungle Jack Hanna Tuesday, Oct. 11, at the Keith-Albee.

Tickets may be purchased at the Marshall Artists Series Box Office, located on the east side of the Joan C. Edwards Performing Arts Center, or by calling 304- 696-6656. Patrons can also visit www.marshallartistsseries.org for ticket information.
