Elvis Costello, Nick Lowe, and Mink DeVille

Arthur S. Brisbane

Next Saturday night Kansas Citians can see for themselves just how meaningless the words "new wave" and "punk" have become in the rock world today. That is because Elvis Costello, Nick Lowe, and Mink DeVille will be performing at Memorial Hall, and if you don't believe me, just catch these guys. It's not punk, but the music they make is certainly new. As Costello puts it in one of his songs, "Nothing's changed, just the beat." These are just three of the best groups in the latest rock generation, and if you are even remotely interested in what's new, this concert is the sleeper that shouldn't be missed. Remember, you have been warned!
