Basing Street," Nick Lowe -- "More tales of Notting Hill. One of Nick's finest recordings. Don’t miss his new record, At My Age.

Boot-Leg, Booker T. and the M.G.s -- "Sounds as if Steve Cropper's guitar amp had caught fire or was about to blow up. I have to declare an interest here, as I put this compilation together and wrote the liner notes, but if you can find the original album, Funky Broadway: Stax Revue Live At The 5/4 Ballroom, from which this cut is taken, don't pass it up.

Dexter's Rif, Dexter Gordon -- "An early gem from a man with a noble name.

Random Quote:

So at the moment you don't have a plan to make a band record or rock record or whatever, in the next two years or something like that, or you might do or you might not?

You know what, I might make five records, I might go back to that plan. You know, but if I do make five records, I don't want to be told we can't put them out because that isn't what we can do. Because, you know, if you can do it they should be able to do it. So if they can't deal with it then they're clearly the wrong people.
