The legal and business rift between Elvis Costello, Nick Lowe and their manager Jake Riviera, and WEA Records that surfaced in court last week has been resolved without further judicial action.
At press-time, WEA's legal department were putting the final touches to a statement, but the MM understands that the out-of-court agreement leaves the relationship between Riviera-Global, representing Costello and Lowe, and WEA much as before Radar Records dissolved, with the musicians producing records for Riviera's F-Beat label and WEA distributing and marketing them.
The immediate result will be the release on Friday next week of Costello's new single, "I Can't Stand Up For Falling Down," followed on February 15 by his 20-track album, Get Happy.
