The single, released on June 8, is "I Wanna Be Loved" b/w "Turning The Town Red", and both are taken from the forthcoming LP, Goodbye Cruel World, released on F-Beat, via RCA, on June 4. "I Wanna Be Loved" is the only non-original composition on the new album. Experts believe it's a cover of the 1960 Ricky Nelson hit. The B side, meanwhile, is the theme from Alan Bleasdale's current Channel 4 series, Scully, in which Elvis also made his acting debut. The single will also be released as a 12-inch, with an extended "smooth 'n' runny" version of "I Wanna Be Loved." The complete track listing of Goodbye Cruel World, which was produced by the Clive Langer/Alan Winstanley team who were responsible for last year's Punch The Clock, is: "The Only Flame In Town," "Home Truth," "Room With No Number," "Inch By Inch," "Worthless Thing," "Love Field," "I Wanna Be Loved," "The Comedians," "Joe Porterhouse," "Sour Milk Cow Blues," "The Great Unknown," "The Deportee's Club" and "Peace In Our Town." Apart from the usual Attractions' line-up, the album is also rumoured to include guest appearances from Daryl Hall and Green from Scritti Politti. Following his recent solo tour of America, Costello is currently touring Australia and New Zealand with The Attractions.
