T Bone Burnett put together a concert at Town Hall, NYC, celebrating the music from the Coen Brothers' new movie ''Inside Llewyn Davis''. Patti Smith strung 20 acoustic musicians across the stage to tell us "People Have The Power." One of them was Joan Baez. Jack White and Oscar Isaac sang. I was Justin Timberlake's understudy, while Lake Street Dive stole the first half with "You Go Down Smooth."

I was Justin Timberlake's understudy, while Lake Street Dive stole the first half with "You Go Down Smooth." Various [[The Secret Sisters|Secret Sisters]] and [[Punch Brothers|Punch]] and Avett Brothers raised the roof or said their piece and Mr. [Marcus] [[Marcus Mumford|Mumford]] and his missus sang a pretty song or two. The music continued under the stage throughout the concert while waiting your turn; Levon Henry tearing off a tenor saxophone break on "Keep It Clean" with [[Gillian Welch]], [[David Rawlings]], Willie Watson and Keb' Mo'. Back on the stage, [[Bob Neuwirth]] stepped up to the mike and delivered a version of Utah Phillips' "Rock Salt And Nails" that was worthy of Hank Williams. That's something you cannot learn and best thing I've heard all year

T Bone Burnett put together a concert at Town Hall, NYC, celebrating the music from the Coen Brothers' new movie Inside Llewyn Davis. Patti Smith strung 20 acoustic musicians across the stage to tell us "People Have The Power." One of them was Joan Baez. Jack White and Oscar Isaac sang. I was Justin Timberlake's understudy, while Lake Street Dive stole the first half with "You Go Down Smooth."

Various Secret Sisters and Punch and Avett Brothers raised the roof or said their piece and Mr. [Marcus] Mumford and his missus sang a pretty song or two. The music continued under the stage throughout the concert while waiting your turn; Levon Henry tearing off a tenor saxophone break on "Keep It Clean" with Gillian Welch, David Rawlings, Willie Watson and Keb' Mo'.
