If you're an avid visitor of Muziek.nl, you're probably familiar with the Listening Post. At present, there are two interesting albums added to the Listening Post, namely Elton John & Leon Russell - The Union and Elvis Costello - National Ransom.
As its predecessor [[Secret, Profane & Sugarcane|Secret Profane and Sugarcane]]  (2009) National Ransom, the 33rd album from workaholic Costello, was produced by [[T Bone Burnett]] and recorded in Nashville (if we may believe the rumours in less than 12 days). Under the co-musicians the faithful friends of [[The Imposters]] and [[The Sugarcanes|The Sugar Canes]]. Plus performances by [[Vince Gill]], [[Marc Ribot]], [[Buddy Miller]] and [[Leon Russell]] with almost a logical consequence 'rootsy' feel. Despite the frequent use of steel guitar, mandolin, dobro and violin, the atmosphere more towards the "rhythm & harmonies" of R & B or even gospel, then bluegrass direction.
