Elvis Costello, currently undertaking an extensive UK tour with The Attractions, is to revert to his role of solo entertainer next month.
During the summer, he successfully crossed the States with his one-man act – and now he’s keen to display his ability as a soloist to British audiences.
His concerts are at Harrogate Royal Hall (9 November), Edinburgh Playhouse (10), Liverpool Philharmonic Hall (11), Cardiff St. David’s Hall (13), Bristol Colston Hall (14) and Dublin Stadium (17). Then, after a two-week trip around Europe, he returns to play London Royal Festival Hall on 3 December.
London’s tickets are £7.50, £6.50 and £5.50 – and they are the same prices for Dublin though, of course, in Irish punts. For all other venues, they are £6.50, £5.50 and £4.50. They are on sale now for the November dates, but the box-office doesn’t open until 29 October for the London show. Promoters are Asgard.
Costello will be on stage alone throughout his set, accompanying himself on piano, electric piano, acoustic and electric guitars. The show will be opened by America’s T-Bone Burnett, who has two six-track mini-albums released by Demon Records on 9 November. ‘Trap Door (recorded in 1982) and ‘Behind The Trap Door’ (brand new).
