MILL VALLEY, Calif. (AP) — British rockers Nick Lowe and Elvis Costello lead the chorus at a 21st anniversary gathering for Village Music, a tiny second-hand record shop frequented by music stars.
The store, 10 miles from San Francisco, is jammed with owner John Goddard's collection of vintage rock and soul posters.
The parade of music legends that performed Monday included Jerry Garcia and Bub Weir of the Grateful Dead, Sammy Hagar of Van Halen, Kim Wilson of the Fabulous Thunderbirds, Pete Sears of the Starship and Commander Cody.
With an audience that was half musicians, Costello confessed that it was "more nerve-wracking than getting up before 7,000 people."
