Elvis Costello is to embark on his first UK tour since 1996, accompanied by long time colleague and pianist Steve Nieve.
The tour follows Costello's most recent performance, a one-off show with Burt Bacharach at the Royal Festival Hall in October last year. The Costello/Nieve duo began 1999 with a string of sold out shows around the world, including five sold out shows in Japan and a run of nine sold out shows in Australia.
Costello's most recent collaboration album with Bacharach, Painted From Memory, has been the subject of much critical acclaim. The album was recently recognised at the Grammys, where Costello and Bacharach picked up the Grammy for Best Pop Collaboration With Vocals.
