Secret, Profane & Sugarcane is a Grammy Award-nominated album by Elvis Costello, released on June 2, 2009 on the Hear Music label.

It is unclear how much of the little that has been revealed about the album is accurate, since some of Elvis' remarks are obviously tongue in cheek.
It was produced by T Bone Burnett and recorded by Mike Piersante during a three-day session (March 31 to April 2, 2008) at Nashville's Sound Emporium Studio.  Joining Costello were Jerry Douglas (dobro), Stuart Duncan (fiddle), Mike Compton (mandolin), Jeff Taylor (accordion), Dennis Crouch (double bass), and Jim Lauderdale (vocal harmonies). Emmylou Harris guests on The Crooked Line.
