Charts

  • #28 (UK)
  • #36 (US)
  • This was EC's first US top 40 hit.

Notes

  • The Spanish 7" gives Everyday I Write The Book the translated title "Cada dia escribo el libro."
  • Night Time is an old Escorts number.
  • The second pressing of the UK 12" has a slightly longer remix of the title track (which is not the same as the US 'special club' version). Some (but not all) of the covers carried a sticker saying "EXTENDED REMIX 4:52". The covers of both UK 12" versions are identical.
  • The "special club version" of Everyday I Write The Book was remixed by John "Jellybean" Benitez and engineered by John "Tokes" Potoker.
