The Elvis Costello Experience is an informal name for the trio of Elvis Costello, Bruce Thomas, and Pete Thomas, who performed at least two (and possibly three) concerts in April 1980 after Steve Nieve was injured in a car accident.

The trio format was quickly abandoned. Guitarist Martin Belmont joined the band for the remaining dates in April and May, and Nieve returned in June.
