(Dagbladet): When their regular conductor could not be on today's broadcast of "Tonight with Ylvis Live", the Bergen Brothers duo sets off the borders for a replacement.
For when Ylvis-boys' husband plays on tonight's edition of the live talk show on TVNorge, it is with Elvis Costello as musical director.
He is well known for "Oliver's Army", "I Can't Stand Up For Falling Down" and "Notting Hill" version of Charles Aznavour-song "She". In 2004 he was named the world's 80 biggest artist in music magazine Rolling Stone.
- Our orchestra in "Tonight with Ylvis Live" has unfortunately been a problem, but we've got an Elvis Costello as a substitute. He has never worked as a conductor on a talk show before, but have had lots of Grammys and such, so we'll give it a try, says Bård Ylvisåker to Dagbladet.
Costello has at least received one Grammy, along with Burt Bacharach in 1999, but has been nominated over ten times. He is also an actor, last seen in a cameo in the TV series "Treme".
- It was an honor to be a substitute for David Letterman on his talk show a few years ago, but I'm happier to finally fulfill your dream of being musical director on Norwegian television, said Costello in a statement communicated to Dagbladet.
Tonight with Ylvis broadcasts directly from the National Theatre tonight at 21:30. In autumn, they have sold over 10,000 tickets to his talk show.
And after Costello coming to Norway, Ylvis go back to the States next month. There they will again visit the "Today Show" on the NBC channel, on 16 October.
