Elvis Costello rocked the night away Saturday at McGaw Memorial Hall, leaving more than 6,200 fans dancing in their seats.
"In my estimate, Elvis Costello was the greatest McGaw show from top to bottom that A&O has ever put on," said CAS junior David Goldberg, chairman of the Activities & Organizations Board, which sponsored the concert. "It was packed."
"I had the most fun at that show than any other show I've been to this year," said Jesse Wheeler, a Speech sophomore. "He interacted with the audience very well."
Popular tunes included his old hit "Alison," and his current hit "Veronica" from his newest album, Spike. Costello ended the three-hour concert with "Pump It Up."
While Costello sang solo for much of the concert, he sang a duet with special guest singer Nick Lowe, which many cited as a highlight of the concert. Goldberg said the event ran smoothly.
"There were no problems anywhere," he said. "It was extremely successful."
