40 years on ......................................... Not a lot more to say about this series of gigs (I'm running out of unique things to say). Suffice to say, energy levels don't appear to have disappeared or dissipated in this show and the fast songs are again at pretty much breakneck pace with Elvis effortlessly keeping up with his singing. The first three songs appear to have been played as a three piece with just Pete and Bruce accompanying Elvis as Martin is introduced before "Possession" where Elvis again moves to the organ. On this recording, I think it is possible to pick out some organ in the musical interlude in the middle of "Watching The Detectives" and I've included a sample to try and pick this out. If there are any folk who clearly remember that far back and can say for sure, it would certainly be a unique piece of information! I think the tape flip occurred just before the start of "Little Sister" and the song is almost entirely missed with just the intro captured. The gig ends with a spirited "Mystery Dance" and "Pump It Up" is conspicuous by its absence but otherwise a pretty standard setlist and recording for this particular tour. This audience recording again came to me in the mid eighties in a trade and needed a lot of pitch adjustment to get it sorted.
