I did not attend this show, but a friend of mine did, and I loaned him whatever the portable deck was that I owned at the time. I wasn't such a fan at that point in time, so my friend got to keep the original tapes, and I made a clean copy for myself, for posterity. Unfortunately, I did not know about the Azimuth-optimization process at the time, so the 1st-gen copy may lack a bit of clarity, but it could have turned out a lot worse. My friend had never taped a show before, so I gave him a few pointers on stealth recording, and he didn't do a bad job at all, I think - especially since his first attempt at stealth taping turned out to be almost a two-hour show! He also recorded the opening band, Aztec Camera, which I also copied for my own archives.

I didn't do much tweaking with the audio properties of these files, so they're pretty true to the original recording. It's not the most dynamic recording, but it's a pretty good document of the TKO tour, I believe.

This version:
Azimuth-optimized 1st-gen copy of master cassette
Fades at beginning and end were applied at the time the original tape was copied.
Analog-digital transfer to HD via CDWave editor; individual track points created in CDWav.
Sound Forge processes applied:
DC offset;
patch in track 1-001: the right channel was plagued with some pretty nasty mic/line noise for the first 1:13, so I copied that length from the left channel and patched it to the right channel.
Traders Little Helper processes:
SBE test (results included)
.flac conversion (level 8)
fingerprints (.ffp) generated

PS - Sorry about what looks like my "firewalled" status - I have no firewall, but I do have Comcast, and I do not have access to a static IP. Any suggestions? I'm all ears.

As with all of my torrents, I'd like to ask that downloaders refrain from posting any so-called "artwork" on this torrent. I know people like to do that sort of thing, like they're making their own album art or something, but we all know that there are some scallywags even here on DIME that grab things like that with these torrents, and sell them on eBay. Besides, that kind of artwork seems like it would be a personal thing for each listener, anyway.

On the other hand, if someone feels like tweaking the audio properties of these files a bit, I'm sure no one could stop you from doing that - but if you do tweak it and decide to share it with others, please make sure you let people know that it's a re-worked version, okay?

Why not just enjoy the music!
