40 years on .................................................. Not a lot of breathing space for Elvis and the band but just a short trip to South London (near to the spiritual home of Squeeze) for the second of three nights in London. One wouldn't expect too much variation in the setlist and we only get an arrangement of "Secondary Modern" in the initial band plus horn segment followed by another great arrangement of "High Fidelity" which Elvis comments was a single bought by a couple of people at the bar! There is a little electronic interference at the start of this incidentally. "Oliver's Army" is introduced as a "wartime lament" and sounds a little muffled to begin with but becomes clearer as the song nears its end. "The World And His Wife" is about "festering family life" and from then on the concert follows a very familiar pattern. Interestingly, Claudia Fontaine doesn't appear with Afrodiziak after her appearance the previous night in Hammersmith, at least according to Elvis' band introductions in "Pump It Up". This came from the previously mentioned "Terry" and I have no reason to doubt he made the original recordings.
