Punk and New Wave pioneer Elvis Costello will show off his eclectic repertoire in a solo act at the Cascade Theatre on Monday, Sept. 24. The concert begins at 7:30 pm and tickets, priced from $64 to $84, are available by calling 243-8877. Costello is scheduled to perform the next night in Chico at Laxson Auditorium. Since his arrival on the music scene in 1977 with his debut album, My Aim is True, Costello has continued to forge his unique identity with songs like "Allison," "Accidents Will Happen," "Pump It Up," "Watching the Detectives" and others.
The singer-songwriter frequently ventures into other genres and has collaborated with Burt Bacharach, The Brodsky Quartet, Paul McCartney, The Charles Mingus Orchestra, record producer and songwriter T Bone Burnett and others. Costello and his band, The Attractions, were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2003.
