The Teatro Regio reopens to the rock for the arrival - the Musical Union - one of the most quoted songwriters of the last twenty years . Elvis Costello, London-born in 1955, arrives on Monday, 9, and certainly not enough disk of some routines, such as "All This Useless Beauty," the last, to diminish the importance of the event.
In 1977, when he released "My Aim Is True," he seemed like a nice guy that punks they would have combined all the colors. Instead, Costello was one of them. An innovator, an essential composer, an all-rounder, able to concentrate on the songs of three minutes, the fantasy of the Beatles, the pride of Clash, melodic inspiration of the American soul, urban reggae and a pinch of Zappa's desecration. The late '70s was glorious, with classic albums such as "This Year's Model ," a male group, The Attractions, and the production of Specials. From that moment on, everything would be easy and impossible for the Elvis of Albion. Easy to make records, for his gold pen. But you can not play the blood passion of the past, albeit with noble exceptions such as " King Of America" and "Blood & Chocolate" (1986), and "Brutal Youth" (1994). The dissolution of the Attractions, then returned to the fore, sometimes adventurous collaborations ( Burt Bacharach, Paul McCartney), marked fifteen years of mixed fortunes. But the myth, meanwhile, is the first appearance in Turin. The Attractions' pianist Steve Nieve will accompany the voice and guitar of the protagonist. It begins at 21, tickets are 30 and 50 thousand lire. Information: tel. 54.45.23.
